The best thing about this product is that it takes away all the intimidation of driving in a new area for the first time. One of the best features is that it tells you which lane to get into well in advance. One thing to note is to be sure to set the Garmin for "Shortest Tme" rather than "Shortest Distance" or else it will direct you through a lot of small towns rather than an Interstate. That might be a few miles less but it could be hours longer.

I had to order this only due to the fact the car charger did not work in my rental vehicle. Some newer vehicles have a variable power outlet that shuts down when it senses a voltage higher than the outlet is rated for. Although the Garmin unit was well below that rating, the outlet in my rental (Chevy) did not like the Garmin cord. I used this through a power inverter and it worked perfectly. Multiple adapters for multiple power sources assures you of being able to use this just about anywhere. Only wish I had not forgotten the one that came with the unit!
