The suction cup accessory is exactly the same as the one that came with the GPS.
This allows movement of the GPS between two different
cars without the necessity of unmounting the suction cup once installed.

I transfer the unit from vehicle to vehicle often. When removing the suction cup there is some of the rubber left beind and suction cup has pitted and deteriorated and will not retain its grip. Posibbly a cup made of silicon rubber would last longer
Garmin 350 Holder, April 09, 2007
When you consider the Garmin Nuivi-350 price of $500 and more, one would expect a holder more durable and flexiable than the one supplied. It does the job but it does not hold up to the constant up & down & side to side motion the GPS goes through from normal use.
The suction cup does fall off the windshield if the glass gets hot or cold. There has to be a better GPS holder out there.
