I have had my venture HC for over 2 weeks now and am well satisfied. The receiver picks up satellites even when inside buildings. I am getting less than 20 ft accuracies sitting in my living room. It is also very fast and sometimes satellite pick up seems almost instantaneous when under an open sky and not moving. When compared with a garmin 12xl under dense tree cover, the 12xl would constantly lose satellites while the venture HC was still getting 20 ft accuracies.

The maps downloaded from garmin mapsource take only a minute or two to download when they used to take 20-30 minutes on my old garmin map 76.

It fits easily in a shirt pocket and very easy to use with one hand. It is small and light enough to take with you wherever you go. I also like the calculator and calendar function. It even has games.

Although battery life is rated at 14 hours, I have gotten almost 24 hours with 2500 MaH NiMH rechargable batteries. The usb cable it comes with will power the unit when connected to the computer and I got a cigarette lighter adapter to use in the vehicle.

This is a great little unit and the quick service
from Tigergps was an extra bonus.
