The most user-UNfriendly piece of electronics that I have ever owned. It is certainly functional, but there is very little that is intuitive about its use. Navigating through the numerous submenus rarely makes sense, and it is very easy to get redirected back to the main menu, forcing you to waste time going through the submenus again. Add to this that the various buttons have a different function (sometimes) depending upon which menu you are currently in. Reminds me of a Monty Python skit.

My wife and I will be using this product for city/walking navigation. The first time we used it was in Tampa Fl. and with the added City Navigator Software (a must have product), it proved to be quite accurate...even better than the Magellan that was in our rental car. The Vista is user friendly but, you do need to read the manual. I'm in my 50's and have had no problems using my Vista, I wish I could find a book that would be of better help in using the waypoints and the compass. The color display is great. I was cocerned about the display size at first but it has been fine. The battery life is good also. I had researched just about every hand held out there and the Garmin e Trex Vista Cx is just what I was looking for.
