Navigate the Open Road

zumo 450 comes ready to go right out of the box with preloaded City Navigator NT street maps and a hefty points of interest (POIs) database, including motels, restaurants, fuel, ATMs and more. Simply enter a destination, and zumo takes you there with turn-by-turn voice directions. In addition, zumo accepts custom points of interest such as school zones and safety cameras, and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs. The 450 also comes with a rechargeable, removable lithium-ion battery a for trip planning or use on foot, and even accepts additional maps.

Avoid Traffic Tie-ups

Monitor traffic tie-ups with the addition of an optional FM TMC traffic receiver (see right). By adding traffic services and a receiver, your 450 notifies you of upcoming accidents or road construction ahead on your route. Simply touch the screen to view traffic details or recalculate your route to avoid traffic.

Plan Your Trips and Share Your Rides

zumo 450 at Tiger GPS makes it easy to plan your next trip and share routes with your riding buddies. Plan trips on your computer before you start. Search for food and fuel stops and local attractions. Then, transfer your route to zumo and go.

I have owned this GPS for a month now. It has guided us on approx. 7 trips and done it flawlessly. I looked at the more expensive model 550 and decided against it due to the fact of not needing XM radio. I am very happy with my purchase and will be buying a Garmin for my vehicle to replace the Magellan.

The Zumo 450 truely is motorcycle friendly. I have found it is very easy to operate requiring very little focus or concentration and a minimal number of button pushes to set a destination, add a via point or make changes to a route. The screen is easy to read and automatically zooms in or out for turns. It switches itself to night mode at dusk. It can be operated easily with gloves with very few "fat finger" errors. I leave the operator's manual at home. I read it once, that was enough. This is the one you need to own

This is a nice unit for a motorcycle. I have had experience with the IWay 500 and Magellen Roadmate. The Zumo 450 is a nice all around unit, not too big and heavy like the IWay and just as easy to use as the Roadmate. The ability to transfer and create routes is a plus. It locks onto satellites and re-routes extremely fast and is one of the only units that I have used that will receive a signal indoors. Browsing and dragging the map is smooth. The touch screen is forgiving to those gloved mitts. The only shortcoming, if any that I have experienced is a small \"jerky\" motion when traveling that could cause you to pass your turn before your unit displays the turn. It seems to subside a little at slower speeds. The jury is still out on this issue. Upon researching the specs on the unit, I was under the impression that it did have an \"internal\" speaker. The motorcycle cradle or unit does not have an internal speaker, only a line-out to use for a speaker, FM modulator or similar. The car-mount suction cup and cradle, which I had to order extra, according to Garmin does have a speaker. Overall a nice, waterproof, light, rugged unit which I would recommend to anyone. No problem with the purchase from Tiger GPS either. I would recommend, after having to purchase the car kit and power cord for another $100.00, that it would be cost effective to go ahead and purchase the Zumo 550. It\'s slightly more expensive but comes with the car kit, extra cords, blue tooth and XM compatible. Having said that, both the Zumo 450 and Zumo 550 are worth the price.
