Lowrance iFinder H2Oc Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What's the difference between the iFinder H2O and the iFinder H2Oc?
A: The iFinder H2Oc has two major advantages over the old iFinder H2O: the new "c" iFinder has an improved 16-channel GPS receiver (the old one had 12 channels) and a high-resolution color screen. The color display is 0.17" smaller diagonally than its monochrome counterpart, but makes up for it with its sharp, crystal-clear screen and more pixels per square inch. Otherwise, the units are essentially the same.
Q: What's the difference between the iFinder H2Oc and the iFinder Hunt C?
A: The iFinder Hunt C has special hunting modes and advanced GPS features, plus a barometric altimeter, electronic compass, and built-in microphone. It is designed specifically for hunters and the roughest of outdoorsmen. The H2Oc is designed with mariners in mind, with its ultra-high-resolution color display. This gives the H2Oc the crispest and brightest screen of any handheld GPS unit in its class.
Q: What's the difference between the iFinder H2Oc and iFinder H2Oc Plus?
A: The iFinder H2Oc Plus Package adds the outstanding Lowrance MapCreate Topo 6.3 Accessory Pack. It includes detailed topographical software for the United States, a blank 16MB MMC memory card, and a USB MMC card programmer. You can load the software onto the MMC card via the programmer, or use a standard SD Flash card if your computer supports it. The memory card drawer is located behind the batteries and can take up to 1GB cards if you need it (Delkin cards are listed to the right). The 16MB card will typically cover your county or immediate region, while a 1GB card could hold information for almost the entire country. You can also add pre-programmed Navionics Gold and Navionics HotMaps Premium charts if you're on the water.
