How is it different?
The Lowrance iWAY 250c is slimmer than its older brother, the iWAY 350c. Therefore, it fits neatly in your pocket, making it truly portable anywhere. The iWAY 250c lacks the FM transmitter feature of the 350c, and more importantly, it doesn't have internal solid-state memory like the 350c. Although the maps come pre-programmed on an SD card, you only have 40MB free memory play MP3s or view photos while navigating, since the maps fill the rest of the memory on the card. You can use the GPS and play music, but with just a limited library. The iWAY 500c is pre-loaded with maps and plays MP3s, but unless you're Paul Bunyan, you won't be able to fit the huge 5" screen model in your pocket.

They each traveled to completely new to them large cities and were able to navigate easily through unfamiliar territory. Poi's are very helpful, and the recalculate features are very fast. Anyone who cannot use this unit is techno challenged. Great little auto GPS, August 13, 2007 I purchased this after my friends experience with the much higher priced Lowrance. I am very impressed with its quickness to locate satellites and recalculate new routes. I've used this to locate a small church in the Vermont countryside on a dirt road in the Northeast Kingdom, locate another church in rural New Hampshire [for a funeral,] maneuvered my way with Boston's labyrinth of streets, found how to get to an IKEA in Toronto, Canada from my cousin's home which was tricky, and his cottage near Lake Simcoe and, later, a marina in Parry Sound. it was just what I needed and I hope to get many year's usage. The sound is clear and distinct. Sometimes I do wish that it had a little more brightness in the sun but I get ample warnings ahead of time as to where my turns are coming up. I Like it!! No comparison to Garmin, July 30, 2007 I returned this item becuase it was not user friendly, took way to long to register where I was and was no comparison the the Garmin I had also purchased to compare the two. Go with Garmin. Review of the 250C, June 21, 2007 I found the 250C to be very helpful and easy to use. The vocal instructions were sufficiently before the indicated action to allow traffic moves. The only question I had was about the shortest route. It did not always choose what I knew to be the shorter route. Lowrancei250, June 21, 2007 Excellent product. I was all set to buy the Garmin at $100+more at BestBuy,after doing a lot of review. Ideally, I'd like a bigger screen, but for the price, it's well worth itI recommend it highly. iWAY 250C, May 09, 2007 Still evaluating but so far it is excellent. The map card could be updated as it has ask me to turn on roads that no longer exist. Otherwise it is a very good unit. Great for Active Senior Citizen, May 04, 2007 Reviewer: Gloria J. Thirus Easy to use. Great for out-of-state adventures. Best investment I've made for "My" personal enjoyment. Great Little Brother of the 550C, March 26, 2007 Great little brother of the IWAY500C |
