My girlfriend bought me this unit for my birthday, and I'm very impressed. Didn't want anything expensive because I have a soft top Jeep, and I'll have to either carry it with me or store it. I also have started using it at work in my ambulance on long distance trips. Used it from Delaware to Manhattan and had zero problems. Even my driver who is a technotard could figure it out. Great unit, if your going to carry it buy a case for it. The quick release clips are great and the battery lasts for a pretty good amount of time. Just wish there was map updates available for it.

the unit is a great tool for the novice driver
the only problems i've hade is the unit would not turn on and i had to push the reset button. the gas station and restaruant symbols are inconsistent. but hey it was a 280 dollar navigation you can't complain

I'm impressed with the ease of operation. I drive a convertible sports car and must remove the unit from the holder (which is attached to the dashboard) every time I leave the car. I use the clip that releases the unit off of the mount. This clip is spring operated and broke the second time I used it. I've tried locating the small part and am unable to. Other than this piece of the mounting bracket the unit is great. I'd buy it all over again but I would insist on getting 20 or 30 extra "quick release (?) clips along with the unit.

I bought this unit for my wife because she is a 'technotard". I'm very impressid with the simple precise function of this unit. It does everything it should and very well. It has no "frilly features that nobody needs anyway ie...bluetooth, text to speech and MP3. It keenly intersects in the cost/quality/function intersection. I have no reservations recommending it.

The Road Mate 2000 is one awesome GPS system.The kit they send you come with everything you ned to get you going.It is very easy to use.The touch screen is great.I used it to go from Texas to Maine and didnt get lost once.It even told me where to get gas and a bite to eat.I was damn near waiting for it to pour me a cup of coffee.The size is perfect.You dont have to use glue or mesy tape to install.It mounts to your windsheild by a powerful suction cup.It will pay for itself by not getting you lost, witch in turn saves fuel.The price is The price makes it a GREAT buy.If possible I would give it a six star rating!!!
