Tiger GPS Official Navionics Guide
For more than 20 years, Navionics has been the leader in premium marine mapping software. Compatible with a wide range of chartplotters, Navionics cards provide cartography that's clear and easy to read at all zoom levels, with depth contours, spot soundings, port plans, port service guides, navaids, and more, all on a pre-loaded plug-and-play memory card. Just find the card appropriate for your region and plotter, and you're good-to-go!
The first step is to determine what kind of card you need. Navionics Marine Charts cover the East Coast, West Coast and Gulf Coast of the United States and Canada, as well as the Great Lakes. But if you fish on lakes inland, you'll need a Navionics HotMaps card instead. International coverage is found in the Marine Charts section.
The latest and greatest are the Navionics Platinum Plus series. Compatible only with select high-end plotters, Platinum Plus charts feature the standard contour and navaid detail but add satellite photo overlay and panoramic pictures, 3D views, enhanced port services coverage, Coast Pilot books, and dynamic tide and current data. Navionics Platinum Plus Charts come on CF cards (click here) for Raymarine E140W/E120W/E90W, C140W/C120W/C90W, A70/A57/A50, E120/E80, G120/G150/G170/G190 and GPM400, and Northstar 6100i systems; and SD/microSD cards (click here) for Humminbird 858c, 898c, 955c, 957c, 958c, 967c 3D, 997c SI, 998c, 1155c, 1157c, and 1197c SI, Lowrance HDS-10, HDS-8, HDS-7, HDS-5 and HDS-5 Baja, and Simrad NSE12 and NSE8. There is also a new Navionics HotMaps Platinum, for inland lake detail in the United States.
The base chart standard now is the Navionics Gold series. Navionics Gold charts feature sophisticated depth contours, Navaids with XPlain, major coastal road networks, and enhanced port services, though not to the detail level of Platinum charts. Plotters that are compatible with Navionics Gold should use HotMaps Premium (click here) for inland lake detail.
