Garmin, based in Olathe, Kansas, is a market leader for automotive, handheld, marine and aviation GPS solutions. The nuvi and zumo series are wildly popular amongst drivers, and Garmin handhelds are the most versatile around. Garmin also offers a selection of marine fixed-mount and multi-funtion systems, as well as integrated radio-GPS combos and even the new Astro dog tracker.
Lowrance, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is one of the oldest producers of sonar equipment. Their high-end HDS series are highly affordable solutions for most marine applications. Lowrance also features the Endura line of handheld GPS units.
Magellan, currently headquartered in Santa Clara, California, was one of the first major players in the market with its popular RoadMate series. They have now expanded their line to include the Maestro series as well. The Triton line of handhelds pack lots of features into compact units.
